Understanding A Writer’s Mind

It's Been a Good Life (http://en NULL.wikipedia NULL.org/wiki/File:Good_life_cover NULL.jpg)

It's Been a Good Life

There is no doubt that writers are very fascinating people. With the immense power of words they are able to summon emotions such as joy, sadness, anger and empathy. And sometimes they are able to maneuver words in such a way that we will feel all those emotions simultaneously.

Most writers know they will never be rich, yet there is no day which passes without thousands of people pouring out their thoughts on paper or on a keyboard, investing much creativity and energy into a project that others may never even take a glimpse of.

In the process of churning out significant story, a person must tap into his creative oomph. For an ordinary person, it can be difficult to invest that energy into a story if there is a sense that thee story has no possibility of success. However, most writers would just continue doing the thing they all are passionate of.

One might be asking: What is the motive behind a writer’s determination to persist in writing considering that success can be very obscure? The motivation of different writers can be summed up with this Isaac Asimov quote: “I write for the same reason I breathe — because if I didn’t, I would die.” And who could argue with that? I think nobody – not even those who don’t understand the writers’ psyche.

Some writers explain that the stories they write are stories that first formed in their minds and giving them sleepless nights. There are even instances that story might not be able to reach other people but just for private consumption.

Most writers are aware of the reality that they will never taste fame yet all most likely vigorously support the wisdom as outlined by Francois Mauriac when he wrote: “Each of us is like a desert, and a literary work is like a cry from the desert, or like a pigeon let loose with a message in its claws, or like a bottle thrown into the sea.” All writers want is to express whatever they have in their head no matter if others will read the final product or not.

Then again, if you have a good message or story you would like to share, it could also be necessary to be inspired by that glimmer of hope no matter how slim it might be that your message will eventually reach its intended audience either today or later.

For some authors joy in writing is defined as being able to put the whole story on paper. Noted novelist Tom Clancy has this to say on this matter: “Success is a finished book, a stack of pages each of which is filled with words. If you get to that point you have achieved success.” I fully agree.

New writers started their journey in writing without ever thinking that someday becoming rich or famous. For them, writing is a manifesto of self-expression and listening to that fire inside. On average, writers only get back minimum wage, when one considers the amount of work they put in, in relation to the money they earn, but you would not hear them making a lot of complain.

The freedom and the capacity to write are already something worth celebrating – most writers know of this fact.

Effective Article Marketing Techniques

Article Marketing (http://www NULL.flickr NULL.com/photos/12932804 null@null N00/136381753)

Article Marketing

One of the most important elements to make a website or blog successful is the amount of targeted traffic it could generate. Without the right type of visitors, even a very attractive site with good contents can mean nothing. You have to promote your site and writing and publishing articles online is one of the most effective techniques in promoting your site and ensure that it gets in front of your target market.

People are always searching the internet for information. And when you offer great quality content in your articles, it gives people a reason to come to your site. We will discuss here at least three major article marketing techniques which are all proven to be working for majority of online marketers.

The first thing that you need to keep in mind with article marketing is to create great and attention-getting titles. The title should grab your reader even by just a mere look and should effectively arouse the viewer’s curiosity enough to get read at all. You don’t really need to be a Pulitzer winner or very witty when creating your articles. Your articles should be concise and packed with enough information yet still leave some room to whet your readers’ appetite for more. In short, you have to appeal to curiosity in your reader’s mind and at the same time tell them what the article is about. After all, you don’t want anybody guessing whatever message you want to convey.

The next thing to consider is that the resource box below your article is actually the most important part of your entire article marketing campaign. The most effective way to get people to respond to your resource box is to sell your product or website in a way that gets readers to click to it. When creating your resource box, make sure you leave out who you are and what you do, as that’s a common mistake that never works. If your resource box doesn’t include a call to action, most people won’t click on your link. If you are asking people to click on your link, you must let them know exactly what they’re going to find on the other side

Now most of your traffic is going to come from the major search engines like Google. So before you even start writing your articles, you need to do proper keyword research so that you’re able to get good rankings in the search engines.

Despite the fact that there are self-proclaimed “gurus” announcing that article marketing is outdated, experts in this field see no end in sight. For as long as people are looking for information with the use of the internet, then article marketing is here to stay. Take advantage of it now as your competition is definitely utilizing its power.

The best aspects of article marketing are that the results are direct and targeted plus it requires no capital outlay at all. You just have to learn to create great articles if you want to bring in as much traffic as possible to your websites. So go ahead and start publishing articles using the tips above and success can be yours in no time at all.

Running Business From Home

How often have you heard people say these two things: they want to travel and run their own business from home? The travel franchising business gives you the opportunity to experience both of those worlds! Run your own business from home and take advantage of having a well placed travel franchise.

The travel industry gives you a global opportunity that you can take part in from the comfort of your own home. One of the many advantages of doing so is the benefit of joining with other like-minded people to maximize your business impact and find some excellent offers.

Start-up costs are much lower when starting a business from home, compared to conventional office businesses. It is also important, when choosing your travel franchise business that you look into the availability of training and support, as well as any associated costs. You also save both money and time, by already being at work, rather than having to spend time on the road, not to mention all the commuting problems you can now avoid.

It is very satisfying to set up your office, the way you want, both in design and organization. You don’t have to report to anyone else to get approval to do things the way you want! Your wardrobe also changes to your comfort zone and not what the boss expects.

Not only do you have flexible hours that will fit your new schedule, but you may have tax breaks also. Hire a good small business accountant to make sure you understand any benefits that are available to you. The initial set up of your business makes a huge difference to your success. Training and support are also crucial in the travel industry. You are as strong as the people you call upon for these services.

You also gain a newfound confidence in yourself, as you work with travel associates, accountants and a wide variety of clientele. You are now expanding your working life far beyond what you could have achieved while working for someone else. Make time for personal development, as this has a direct impact on your effectiveness as an entrepreneur.

It is recommended though, for you to set routine hours as much as possible. Distractions are one of the downfalls of working from home. Even if you set small blocks of time aside for your business, stick to that plan as much as possible.

Persistence is one of the most important elements in running and making your home-based business a success. Give serious thought to the best location and layout for your office. You want to be comfortable and productive because this is your opportunity for freedom from the usual job.

Ways To Avoid Business Failure

Successful Business (http://commons NULL.wikipedia NULL.org/wiki/File:Guangzhou-electronic-components-shop-0481 NULL.jpg)

Successful Business

Making your business successful is not a clear-cut kind of thing and according to figures more than half of new businesses usually never make it to their first year anniversary. This is the reason why it is very imperative that you are fully aware of some factors that could level up your chances of success and evade the dreaded failure. Here are four vital tips to help your business make the necessary progress and away from stagnation and untimely cessation:

1. Efficiently Manage Your Cashflow. The key reason why new businesses fail is down to bad cashflow. You should be organized and have a system implemented to help. Big problems can arise if you are not receiving payments on time since you may need this money for your trading to continue.

Therefore you should put in place an effective invoicing system and ensure prompt follow-up on late payments. Your system should include calling customers in addition to posting out reminder letters at specific time intervals. Also, be prepared to utilize the services of a debt recovery company if payments are very much overdue. Be aware of your outgoings and when they fall due. Also, know how much tax needs to be paid and by when.

2. Always Pay Staff and Suppliers On Time. This is part of managing your cashflow but it’s vital to pay staff on time. They are keys to your business and hence must be treated well. Late payment of suppliers could cause damaging the business relationship. Your account could be suspended or their services withdrawn and these things could affect how you are able to continue trading. Hence you need to know when invoices are due to be paid and pay them before they are overdue. Also make sure you also have enough money to pay the staff wages.

3. Make The Necessary Plan. There is always a valid wisdom in the saying: “failing to plan is to plan to fail” and this is always true in business. Without good plan in place, you can just be like a firefighter on panic and struggling all the time. Be conscious of the present condition of your business, know where it is possibly heading and have in mind the results planned to be achieved.

Have goals with timeframes and make the necessary adjustments from time to time. An experienced local bookkeeper or bookkeeping services company could assist you with all your cash flow, planning and organization needs.

4. Effectively Market Your Business. If you want to be able to sell your products or services to more and more customers then having a marketing plan is a good idea. To beef up your sales, you can either sell more products or increase your margins. There is always a need to focus more time and push in sales and marketing process most especially in the face of good competition.

Implementing these keys in your business involves hard work, time and no non-sense look at different factors. Don’t expect that anybody will just hand down success to you on silver platter – you have to build it one day at the time!

Tips On Branding Yourself Effectively

Brand Yourself (http://www NULL.flickr NULL.com/photos/36113356 null@null N00/1902669974)

Brand Yourself

All over the world, we are always connecting ourselves and doing business with brands. Brands serve as identity or markers which can signify a lot depending on the person involved. In the past, when we talk about branding we are usually referring to companies, organizations or businesses. In today’s modern global climate, branding is now all-encompassing as it now includes personal branding.

Before anything else, there is a need for you to ascertain your identity as the foundation before you can effectively promote yourself. There is a common conception that you have to be everything to everybody – like a jack of all trades sort of thing. The reason is that it might increase the chances of snatching more clients. However, this is not effectively as you are spreading your net far and wide. Of course, not unless you have a multi-million dollar budget then that is fine. You must understand the use of niche marketing in connection with personal branding.

There is no need to spread yourself so thin. Instead what you should do is find yourself something which no one else can or have not yet offered. In case of mature markets, you should ways of improving the things that are already existing. As yourself: What do you have which is going to make other people follow you? You don’t have to be a celebrity to do this, of course. You must find something that could have some drawing power for people to get attracted to you.

For example, if you a writer it would be hard to catch the attention of people by just that mere fact except if you are already a best-seller author. However, if you market yourself as a good ghostwriter then there is a big possibility that more people would be interested of what you are going to say. People who are not yet aware of ghostwriting would be interested in learning more details. It will start a good discussion that you can easily carry on.

You need to choose something or an idea to brand yourself as unique. For some, it could be a great passion in knitting or perhaps some effective tips to color hair every other day. Whatever it might be, the most important factor to consider is finding a way to make yourself different from the rest of the pack even if there are actually thousands of other people like you.

Make a list of the things you like. Always give some necessary time to sort these stuffs out. Know the things which you really like about yourself and try to connect these things to other people who could also be on the same boat as you are.

Find other people like you. After establishing the idea of your identity and what you want to offer to the market, find out more information of other successful men and women online doing the same thing. In other words, connect with the right people in your niche. Go and browse their internet sites. Read their blogs. Follow their Twitter accounts. Join their Facebook pages.

Get a successful mentor. This is very important. You must find a couple of people who are already successful in the same field. Learn from them. Without sacrificing your individuality and unique perceptions, adopt their strategies. Always remember though that copying is actually not the sincerest form of flattery on the internet so beware not to plagiarize.

Formulate your one line biography. Preferably, the biography must have no more than one line. This way, it would not difficult to fit it in a business card or in a little profile box. You must make it something easy to remember and must capture the essence of the message you wanted to convey.

With the explosion of the internet and current rage of the social media, branding may not be sufficient. The world around you and even the people you may never know would like to hear your story and what you can share. Not building your own brand means that you are not helping your own business.

To succeed in this very competitive world of business, you have to become a figure of authority especially within your industry and this can be done initially by having your own domain name, utilization of the social media and always building healthy and profitable interactions with your targeted viewers.

Using Social Media For Your Online Business

Twitter For Your Business (http://commons NULL.wikipedia NULL.org/wiki/File:Twitter_logo_initial NULL.png)

Twitter For Your Business

Let’s start with the two basic fundamentals. You must learn how to do these two things if you expect to get any results online using social media or Web 2.0:

1. How To Generate Free Targeted Traffic Through Social Media.

2. How To Drive That Traffic To Your Nerve Center/Marketing Hub.

Ready to learn how you will accomplish those three things? This is not difficult, but some might view this technique as a bit complex so let’s break it down in simple terms.

You should learn how to gain laser-targeted Twitter followers that are desperate for quality content in their niche, which, by the way, happens to be your niche too.

Next, you should learn how to find targeted, socially proven content to post to your followers that will attract clicks like bees to honey. Believe it or not, you won’t have to write the content. You will have to write a little, but it’s so simple even my 10 year old can handle it for me.

The Twitter link will lead to your Nerve Center where you will capture some of the traffic with a niche offer that appeals to your laser-targeted Twitter followers.

How To Find Laser Targeted Twitter Followers? The most beautiful thing about Twitter is that it’s all “open source”, meaning the data on the site is available to everyone. Let’s look at two great ways to find the right people to follow on Twitter.

First, follow people who are following someone in your niche market. For example, if your niche is “Affiliate  Marketing”, then follow successful affiliate marketers. However, as important as following them, you’ll also want other people to follow you. There is a good chance these followers are following us for a reason. They are interested in the same niche. So, follow the followers of leaders in your niche. This works well for any niche market.

Second, search Twitter for people who mention keywords that make sense for your niche market. Let’s say that you are creating an eBook that discusses the finer points of gourmet coffee. You can search for people that mention “gourmet coffee” and follow those people.

We recently heard that Twitter is about to breach the 100 million users benchmark and this is an incredible opportunity to find people within your niche and add value to their lives, don’t you think?

How To Find Socially Proven Content To Give To Your Twitter Followers? This is to establish your expertise within the niche you are operating. This is probably the most “ninja” part of this whole technique. We are going to show you where to find high quality, socially proven niche content that you can share with your followers on Twitter.

We are going to drive the followers to your Nerve Center as a bit of a gateway to the content and the author of the content will actually thank you for doing it!

We know this is crazy stuff, so let’s break it down… You know your niche and if you are doing this right, your niche is the same niche that interests your Twitter followers. So it’s as easy as finding articles at Alltop.com and PopURLS.com that are interesting and focused on your niche. Alltop is a site that lists top blogs on all kinds of subjects and PopURLS lists the most popular links today on several different sites.

Here is the “ninja” part: Instead of posting a link directly to the content, you are going to post that link on your Nerve Center along with two unique sentences created by you. The first sentence talks about what you like about the article and the second sentence talks about what you like about the author of the article.

Remember to always post a link back to the original article in your post and it would be a good idea to find some type of picture that relates to the article and post that too.

We have had the content authors actually thank me for linking back to them and commenting on their article. Remember, these authors are human. We complimented their article and their overall blog. Their content is socially proven as popular because PopURLS and Alltop only post the most popular content and you are literally able to draft off of their content popularity by posting a link on Twitter with an interesting Tweet, driving the traffic to your Nerve Center.

We have been getting 40 to 100 clicks back to the articles that we post using this technique. If you find ten articles a day from those two sites — and there are plenty of other sources to find content — you might have 400 to 1,000 visitors to your Nerve Center.

These Nerve Center visitors are laser-targeted to your niche and if you create an offer that is appealing to them, you will capture some of that traffic on your own list or offer (such as Magnetic Sponsoring). Then you can continue building the relationship at a different level by asking questions and offering your help.

The use of social media or Web 2.0 for the benefit of your online business can never be underestimated. It is now exploding and presently there is no end yet on sight.

Lessons From The Apprentice

Donald Trump's The Apprentice (http://en NULL.wikipedia NULL.org/wiki/File:The_Apprentice_Logo NULL.png)

Donald Trump's The Apprentice

Do you watch The Apprentice? I don’t watch much TV but do allow myself a little indulgence with The Apprentice and… X Factor!

My enjoyment of the Apprentice comes primarily from my continual ‘heckling’ of how bad the naive young lambs are at the simplest of tasks.

Even more, I enjoy how Sir Alan has the ability to rip away all the glitz, waffle and ‘jam’ of business and expose what’s really important. And this week was no exception.

The teams were sent out to make and sell sausages. Each team sold something like £500 of sausages each with profits of something like £250…between 6 members of each team.

About £40 each…in a day! Well, it could be not so great. And while the teams reveled in their skyscraper size egos, starched shirt collars and mouths capable of spouting more ‘dribble’ than Vicky Pollard, Sir Alan reduced their success to just the above.

However, think for a moment about what actually happened. These people created a product, got out into the world, took action and actually sold it. And given a few weeks of doing the same you can be pretty sure they’d get a lot better and could make Sir Alan a lot of money just selling sausages.

Sausages…sausages. And there are myriad of opportunities like this for all of us every single day. There is more opportunity now than ever before in history.

Yet all of us get pigeon holed into what we’re doing, get ‘tunnel vision’, myopic vision and just ignore the opportunities all around us. And right now there is a huge opportunity gathering steam right on your front door step.

Something which no matter what type of business you are in can bring new customers and new profits into your business for just a little effort. I am talking of online marketing where your audience can be global yet you can remain locally-based.
